Your responsibilities for the equipment, and how damage and breakdowns are handled.
This Damage Policy explains who is responsible for damage, loss, or breakdown of rented equipment, and how such situations are handled. It applies to all rentals from FarmEquipment Rentals, 133 Clearview Drive, Reinfeld, Manitoba R6W 4A1, Canada, and forms part of our Terms of Service.
Every machine is inspected and provided in good working order. When equipment is delivered or collected, please inspect it right away and report any pre-existing damage or concern to us immediately. This protects you from being held responsible for damage that was already there.
Normal wear and tear — the expected, gradual effect of proper use — is not charged to you. This is different from damage, which includes, for example: impact or collision damage, operating the machine in a way it isn't designed for, running it without required fluids, ignoring warning lights, misuse or neglect, or returning it with missing or broken parts. Damage of this kind is your responsibility.
If a machine fails because of a genuine fault that was not caused by misuse, that is our responsibility. In that case we will repair it, replace it with equivalent equipment, or fairly adjust the rental charges for the affected period. We stand behind the condition of our fleet.
Equipment should be returned reasonably clean and in the condition it was received, normal wear and tear excepted. Excessive cleaning required to return a machine to rentable condition may be charged. Returning equipment with damage, missing parts, or unreasonably dirty may result in charges for repair or cleaning.
Where damage or loss is your responsibility, we will provide a fair account of the repair or replacement cost. Any security deposit held may be applied toward these costs, with the balance returned to you (see our Refund Policy). We will always communicate clearly before charging for damage.
Depending on the equipment and rental, you may be required to carry appropriate insurance. Please review our Insurance Information page for details on coverage and responsibilities.
If you're unsure about your responsibilities or need to report an issue, contact us at farmequipmentrentalssupport@gmail.com — we'd always rather you ask early.
